DESCRIPTION

Available for immediate sale is this Bridgeport Series I Vertical Milling Machine, equipped with a Southwestern Industries ProtoTRAK MX2 2-Axis CNC Control with 3-Axis Digital Readout, variable-speed Bridgeport milling head, power feed system, Yuasa machine vise, and tooling package.

This is an exceptionally versatile configuration combining the simplicity and flexibility of the legendary Bridgeport manual knee mill with the productivity of the ProtoTRAK MX2 conversational CNC system.

The ProtoTRAK MX2 provides CNC-controlled X and Y axis movement, while displaying X, Y and Z position information through the control. This allows the machine to be used for conventional manual milling, positioning and DRO work, or programmed 2-axis CNC machining.

The ProtoTRAK conversational control is particularly well suited for prototype work, tooling, repair operations, maintenance departments and short-run production because many common milling operations can be programmed directly at the machine without requiring a separate CNC programming department.

Southwestern Industries continues to provide legacy MX2 software information and support documentation for this control.

The machine is powered by a heavy-duty U.S. Electrical Motors 2 HP, 230/460V, 3-phase spindle motor and is presently configured for 230-volt operation.

A useful tooling package is included, consisting of a Yuasa precision milling vise, collets/tool holders, drill chuck and assorted tooling as shown in the photographs.

This machine has been tested under power and is operating properly, including the ProtoTRAK control and axis movement.
