Available for immediate sale is this EDM Technology Omega 405-B Sinker-Type Electrical Discharge Machine, equipped with a 30-amp EDM power supply, Mitutoyo digital position readout, magnetic workholding chuck, large dielectric work tank, adjustable flushing system, and integrated dielectric circulation system.

Manufactured in 1990, this Omega 405-B is a traditional industrial ram / die-sinking EDM designed for precision machining of electrically conductive materials including hardened tool steels, carbide, mold steels, and other difficult-to-machine materials.

The electrical discharge machining process removes material through controlled electrical discharges between a shaped electrode and the workpiece while submerged in dielectric fluid. Because the process does not depend upon conventional cutting forces, EDM is particularly well suited for producing complex cavities, blind forms, intricate details, sharp internal geometries, and precision features in hardened materials.
